62 Gallon Replacement Fuel Tank For 2011-2022 Gm Duramax 6.6L Crew Cab Short Bed
Save Time - Go Further And Get More Out of Your Truck! Being stuck with the OEM 36 gallon tank isn't fair! You spend more time looking for fuel stations, are stuck paying high fuel prices and are slowed down by this inconvenience.
The fuel gauge will continue to work, however, the distance to empty will not be accurate. There isn’t a way to update the fuel tank size for the distance to empty to be accurate. The fuel gauge will remain on "F" for a bit longer because of the fuel above the float. The float's empty position in the S&B Tank is the same as the OEM tank. Since the bottom surface area on the S&B Tank is larger, the 62 Gallon tank with have a greater fuel reserve.
Note: GM trucks monitor for an in-operative fuel gauge. When the truck thinks there is a problem, it will drop the gauge to empty to get the driver’s attention. High capacity fuel tanks may cause the truck to think there is a problem because the fuel level sensor float arm moves slower than stock. If this happens, the gauge will return to its normal position after re-starting the engine.
